Connecting Your Social Accounts
Getting Started
Before you can publish social posts, you need to connect your social media accounts. Navigate to Settings → Social Connections to manage your connected accounts.
Connecting an Account
Click Connect next to the platform you want to add. You’ll be redirected to the platform’s authorization page where you grant Copy Company permission to post on your behalf. After approving, you’ll be redirected back to Copy Company and the account will appear as connected.
Platform-Specific Setup
- Facebook — After authorizing, you’ll be asked to select which Facebook Page to post to. Copy Company posts to Pages, not personal profiles.
- Instagram — Requires a Business or Creator Instagram account connected to a Facebook Page. During setup, select the Instagram account you want to use.
- Pinterest — After authorizing, select which Board your pins should be published to. You can change the board later in your settings.
- LinkedIn — Connects directly to your LinkedIn profile or Company Page.
- TikTok — Connects to your TikTok account for video publishing.
Disconnecting an Account
To disconnect a social account, go to Settings → Social Connections and click Disconnect next to the account. This revokes Copy Company’s access and prevents any future posts from being published to that account. Posts that have already been published are not affected.
Troubleshooting
Token Expiration
Social media platforms issue access tokens that expire after a certain period. When a token expires, posts to that platform will fail. If you see errors about expired tokens or invalid authentication, reconnect the account by clicking Disconnect and then Connect again.
Instagram Requires a Business Account
Instagram’s API only supports Business and Creator accounts. If you have a personal Instagram account, you’ll need to convert it to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram app before connecting it to Copy Company.
Facebook Page Permissions
Make sure you have Admin or Editor access to the Facebook Page you want to post to. If you don’t see your Page listed during setup, check your Page role in Facebook’s settings.
Reconnecting After Changes
If you change your social media account password, revoke app permissions from the platform’s settings, or switch to a different account, you’ll need to disconnect and reconnect in Copy Company to re-establish the connection.
