Checking Verification Status

After adding all the required DNS records, return to Settings → Email Domain and click the Check Status button. Copy Company will query your DNS records and report back on each one.

Status Indicators

  • Pending — The record hasn’t been detected yet. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most complete within a few hours.
  • Verified — The record has been found and is correctly configured.
  • Failed — The record was found but the value doesn’t match. Double-check the value in your DNS settings.

Once all records show as Verified, your domain is ready and newsletters will be sent from your custom domain automatically.

Troubleshooting

Records not detected after 48 hours

  • Verify you added the records to the correct domain or subdomain.
  • Check for typos in the record name and value — copy and paste directly from the dashboard.
  • Confirm there are no conflicting records (e.g. duplicate SPF TXT records).
  • Try using a tool like dig or an online DNS checker to confirm the records are visible publicly.

DKIM record shows as failed

This usually means the CNAME value is incorrect or your DNS provider added extra characters. Ensure the value matches exactly what Copy Company provided, with no trailing dots or extra spaces.

SPF record shows as failed

If you have multiple services sending email from your domain, make sure all includes are in a single SPF record. For example:

v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:spf.copycompany.com ~all
